On Life and Living (with Vocalist Live 3 and Boss RC-3 Loop Station)

Many of us find ourselves questioning the deeper meaning of life when the answers we're given from outside sources come up empty. It's hard to hang onto our inner calling. Something inside screams 'take me away'...

I personally seek refuge in fantasies, dreams and nature; "Castles and waterfalls, mountains and firesides". Some around us seem to be wasting their life moments just going through the motions in a redundant path of excess, while those who don't fit the stereotypes for success wither; all the while, the media-drugged would-be-visionaries stand by the window and watch the video game play out.

The second half of this song is an instrumental representation inspired by those places of refuge where the song always sings silently in my soul...

This is a video of one of my performances at Java Central in Uptown Westerville. I am using my Audio-Technica ATM73a mic, an Ovation Balladeer, a Digitech Vocalist Live 3 and a Boss RC-3 Loop Station. Video was recorded using a Kodak Zi8 using the on-camera mic. All the sounds are created live, nothing is pre-recorded or programmed - - -
