Naya Jeevan reaches beneficiaries in two different ways, through direct enrolment and through sponsorship by the beneficiaries' employer. In the interview, Asher Hasan shares two lessons based on the experience of Naya Jeevan in enrolling clients through both channels. The first is a need to leverage technology to develop a simple and automated enrolment processes to increase take-up. The second is to provide tangible benefits to create an incentive to enrol. Naya Jeevan offers clients a medical exam performed by a team of physicians. While this service has increased take-up of the product, Mr. Hasan acknowledges signficant challenges as the number of clients continues to grow. Finally, Mr. Hasan discusses the need for contingency planning and adjustments to the current Naya Jeevan product in the event of natural disasters such as the recent floods that have ravaged Pakistan.
