Devon is a class act and I've had the pleasure of knowing him personally and playing along side of him on a couple of occasions. He is definitely finding his own voice and has the utmost respect for the music of his Dad and Uncle Duane. As a result, he only covers a couple of Allman Brothers songs in his live shows. I really like what he does with Melissa: just a man and his guitar telling a story...

He is awesome in his own right. He is making the song his own. I don't think he is trying to be his father. It's a cover and I am sure his father is proud! His father is an awesome artist and is late Uncle Duane Allman is #2 in the Top 100 Guitarist of all time! Duane is 2nd only to Jimi Hendrix. Just sayin

@jtwunchained I agree. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but some people really don't get the concept of covers. Not to mention you just can't duplicate Greg Allman...and you shouldn't try.

saw Devon this weekend in Massachusetts and he rocked the house. Excellent guitar work and vocals. I don't know what you're listening to here but this version of his dads song is great!

He doesn't even know the song. How could he screw this up? I saw him open for Gregg in Norfolk, Va. a couple of years ago and was not impressed. Gregg was awesome but Devon not so much.
