This is nice enough, but it doesn't have the raw power of Meat Loaf and Patti Russo's version. In this one Dion sounds like she keeps trying to rock out, but neither her voice nor the music are suited to it. Personal taste, I guess.

She lacks the raw power? Did you even play the entire song? The second half of the song blows everyone away. Celine is a Rock icon esp in the French world .

@TheCelineDionChannel I heard the whole song. As I stated, it's not bad; and it may have blown you away, but not me. And it means absolutely nothing to me that she is an icon. I know how famous she is. Lady Gaga is famous, too, but I still think she's a freak. Not that Dion is, but my point is that someone's fame is never in itself a reason to like them. Finally, you and I must differ in our definitions of "rock" music.

@doctor Im just confused after reading your comment..I still dont get how meatloafs version came across as more powerful but to each his own i guess.. Before headbangers came out spitting blood and sticking out their tongue with raging electric guitars ...rock icons were pretty simple people. If Roxette ,Joan Jett even Heart could be considered Rockers ...Why not Celine? They all sang ballads .

Celine Dion record this as demo in 1998, but she had some kind of a thing about wanting the writers to pay a fee to have her sing their songs, which was chickenshit of her, if you ask me. Jim Steinman didn't want to pay, so he turn-around and produced the song for Meat Loaf's Very Best Of.

J Steinman gave up the rights to other songs sung by Celine to avoid collecting additional royalties should the album over sell expectations. MJ and Elvis does the same , They all buy the rights to their songs. SONYbmg, didnt think the song was suitable for the LTAL album and it was cut from the final take.

@ForeverComplaining 90% of the Vegas show is live. I know the lipped songs, and the live ones sounded 100% better than the lipped ones! She has gotten better over the years

@ForeverComplaining Actually, I believe that the majority of the Vegas show is live. I haven't been to the show yet but I have spoken to many people who have and they say it was all live except for only a couple of songs. I plan to see this for myself when I go to the show in 2014. People really need to give her credit that she is an amazing performer and if you watch some of the youtube videos of the making of the Vegas show, Celine says how she does things to make sure her voice is in shape.

@TheBreebles Good point, sorry for sounding too critical as a Celine fan I don't mean to be, but all her pre-recording does annoy me.

However I'm sure she did sing some parts of her vegas shows live, so perhaps she still has something?

@ForeverComplaining Yeah she can, as she has proved on her A New Day album in 2002 and her Taking Chances album in 2007, probably the best Celine albums to date. However, you are entitled to your opinion.

@doctorx777 you dont know nothing if you think she is less than the best female singer in the world, she only comes after whitney houston... and maybe in this song she didnt show her best... that doesnt matter... just see all other videos on you tube, her voice is unmatchable... if she is an icon, its because of her talaent... she is nothing like lady gaga... are you crazy to even compare that to her?
