Battle in the clouds (1909)

A little something I found lying around. As you can see it's pretty prophetic, aspects of warfare such as the aerial bombing of rail lines and civilian targets as well as the use of armoured vehicles and guided missiles were unthought of at the time.

Plot Outline
A man falls in love and proposes marriage, unfortunately this is not approved of by the woman's father. Feeling sad and alone, the inventor retreats to his workshop to think up a way to prove himself to the father and win the girl. Suddenly his friend bursts into the workshop and tells him of the invasion. Immediately the man pilots his new powered aircraft to defeat the threat, become a hero and prove himself worthy. Try as he might however, he is soon shot down by the invasion fleet but survives the crash in good enough condition to set up his guided missile. The missile is successful and the invasion fleet flees. The father is impressed and he gets his bride.
