also, reinforce the top, front part of the gearbox, the more breakable part of the V2

well...is not just a matter of thickness...for sure it contribute to streght, but another thing to keep in mind is the shape!
wherever you have a sharp angle (and in a gb there are a lot) you have a concentration of strain and sollecitation...so, as much can avoind sharp shapes as much strenght your gb will be. Remember: smoothness is the way ;)

You're right. It's a KWA mechbox that was cracked. This process fixed it now.

Hope you get a chance to checkout part 2 to see the final fix in action. It worked great. I dry-fired a longer period of time (>5sec in auto) and no cracks what so ever. I just finished fixing all 3 cracked gearboxes, and all 3 are back to par. Glad I was able to save $180 because I don't have to buy 3 new gearboxes :-)

Hey Mark, didn't see you on Sunday (9/20/09). Anyway, I tuned my gun to where it shoots about 395fps which is the limit for SC village. Anyway, I am going to tune it down this week to about 350-360fps, so people won't complain too much. I figured out why some complain because most of my kill shots are between 15-25ft. BTW, I get hurt too, but I am willing to accept the pain at closer range because that's my style of attacking. :-) have a nice day!
