  • No one has ever seen a truly sad scene until they have seen the end of this movie.

  • This movie isn't only about war, it's also about human selfishness, indifference.

    Nobody shows any compassion to those kids that are castaway. The most painful thing about it is the contrast with Setsuko, so nice, so lifeful, she's the sunshine of this movie (or shall i say the firefly ?) yet she's the one to die. And nobody gives a damn ****, like this guy " what a nice weather we are having today", b*stard !

    This story is based on a novel based on the real story.

    Think about it.

  • @MarxNightmare Or the beginning. Or the middle. Or any moment of this movie really.

  • The only thing that makes that movie sadder is that it's based on a true story. In real life the brother went on to write the novel that the movie's based on as a sort of apology letter to his sister because he blamed himself and his stupid, childish pride for her death.

  • first time ive cried to a cartoon has to be watched in japanese so much heart breaking emotion!

  • So sad ;-;

  • this music is the most beautiful thing I've ever listened to. I still get chills everytime I hear this song..

  • @ANKIT007RAJ Why does every film have to have a happy ending. The only difference between the film and the book/true story is that the Brother survived as he went on to write the book as a way of saying sorry to his dead sister

  • It's been about a year since I've seen this film. 12 seconds into this video and I'm crying already.

  • One of the most moving cinema i ever saw.Every girl would want such a big brother.Hats off.

    Tragic ending though.Atleast they could have shown brother sister lived happily ever after or something like that.

  • @MarxNightmare I agree with you...especially when Setsuko dies I was almost already crying which I usually don't in sad movies.

  • @rfbarrington I did it and it went well together... kinda made it more sad... :(
