Gimli is located on the western shore of Lake Winnipeg, about 75 kilometers north of Winnipeg. Originally founded by Icelandic settlers in the late 1800's, this town is celebrated for its vast array of unique cultural events such as the Gimli Film Festival, and Íslendingadagurinn - the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba.

Eins og hægt er að seigja. Þetta er frábær hátíð og ég vill rosalega mikið fara þángað. Ég ætla hugsanlega að fara á Íslendingadaganna þegar ég klára skólanum.
What I would like to say is. This festival is real awesome and I my self who is an Icelander that lives in Iceland would really much want to go there someday. Ill plan to go sometime after I finish college. XÞ

Gimli rocks winter and summer but more so in the summer when trying to clear the fields.
