"Pos tha perasi i vradia" (How will the night pass?)
Music & Lyrics: Yiannis Papaioannou
Voice: Yiota Negka

Στην υγειά μας (29/4/2006)

ΠΩΣ ΘΑ ΠΕΡΑΣΕΙ Η ΒΡΑΔΙΑ
Μουσική - Στίχοι: Γιάννης Παπαϊωάννου
Ερμηνεία: Γιώτα Νέγκα

Πώς θα περάσει η βραδιά
και πώς θα ησυχάσω
που σκέφτομαι εσένανε
μην τύχει και σε χάσω

Πολλές γυναίκες γνώρισα
εσένα σε φοβάμαι
να μη σε ξεμυαλίσουνε
γι' αυτό και δεν κοιμάμαι

Η αγωνία μου αυτή
με λιώνει και με δέρνει
να ξημερώσει ήθελα
γιατί ύπνος δε με παίρνει

Γυαλένιε μου, γυαλένιε μου
σταυρέ μαλαματένιε μου
γυαλένιος είσαι μαστραπάς
όποιον τον δεις τον αγαπάς

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How will the night pass
and how will I rest
since I'm thinking of you
worrying that I might lose you
Many women I met
but I'm afraid
that you'll be enchanted (by others)
that's why I don't sleep
That agony of mine
consumes and beats me
I'd like for the dawn to come
because I cannot sleep
My glass (adj.), my glass (adj.)
my golden cross
you're a glass tin cup
whoever you see, you fall in love
  • can someone please explain the song and the meaning of the worry beads in this song. this sounds and looks wonderful.
  • You can find lyrics in english at your right, clicking (more info). As for the worry beads they don't have some special meaning, let's say that it's part of the "choreography"...
  • @artanis2alatariel I was told it actually represents sth like dancing around the hard times as the beads represent the hard times an individual faces. And that's why at the end of the dance you pick it up and continue playing with it. Honestly I've asked a bunch of old people :P
  • @provatinaly
    That's very interesting! I had no idea, thanks for sharing that info and thanks to the old people! :)
  • @agochan1 listen all you have to do is to reallised that karsilamas is a slow zeibekiko, you are right but the dance is more "manly" it has to do with the mentality of the moment...crashed heart, lost love, away from home....
  • Viva Greece , viva Zambidis , one greek = 5 turks
  • ΩΡΑΙΑ ΕΡΜΗΝΕΙΑ... ΩΡΑΙΟΣ ΧΟΡΟΣ... ΩΡΑΙΑ ΠΑΙΔΙΑ...!!
  • Ακούστε την εκτέλεση του τραγουδιού αυτού από την Χαρούλα Λαμπράκη και μετά συζητάμε ξανά.....
  • @mmscuf you're right, the dance is "karşılama", but the rithm is zeibekiko, 9/8. In fact, karsilamas can be played with two people, in 4/3 or 9/8, which is sirto or zeibekiko...any how,, what matters is how I feel when I feel this rythim, which I consider the most enjoyabale rithm in the world..zeibekiko
  • @agochan1
    I beg to differ - this is more like a karsilamas (as evidenced by the two dancers) rather than a
    zembekiko - but I'm not dogmatic. That's only my opinion.
