Between August 2001 and November 2004, members of the non-profit Ohio animal advocacy organization Mercy For Animals have conducted four undercover investigations of Ohio's largest egg factory farms. At every facility investigated, MFA found severe overcrowding and confinement, countless sick and injured hens, hens who had become trapped in the wire of their cages, and dead birds left to slowly rot and decompose next to birds still producing eggs for human consumption. The cruel conditions illustrated on their website are not isolated incidents. Sadly, similar abuses run rampant on factory farms across the country. The abuses stem from a system in which living, feeling animals are regarded as mere property, commodities to be exploited for every last penny. The most important thing you can do to stop the suffering of these animals is to stop eating eggs and other animal products.

  • I love chicken and eggs. But I remember from where I come from originally from a village, the chickens are allowed to run free, and lay eggs at their own discourse. Only a selected amount of eggs are consumed while the rest are allowed to breed. My grand parents were farmers, and they were never this cruel to their animals. Besides, the best quality of poultry and meat comes from animals in are free and thus in PERFECT HEALTH.

  • OMG! This is cruel. This put me off egg for awhile... especially cage egg!!!

  • I'm sick to my stomach watching this. I can't watch it. I like eggs and used to eat them weekly, but I eat them only occasionally now, but after watching this video, there is no telling what I'm going to do.

  • I have plenty of protein for you Kristen. Just hit me up baby girl.

  • this is soo cruel!!!!!!! this world is in the worst evil of all!!! omg jesus will return soon...

  • L'homme est la pire espèce de cette terre.

  • Compelling reasons for us consumers to know the source of our food and how it gets to our table. All factory farming is cruel and inhumane. Everything is loaded with chemicals and the industry is highly polluting. A more sustainable, healthy choice is to support local, organic and humanely produced food. A good option is to go vegetarian.

  • Rescued 3 hens in need of care? Why didn't they rescue all of them?!

  • God didn't want this to happen all animals need room to run and be free not enclosed in scourged, plauged cells, I am not saying you have to be vegetarian i'm just saying give them time to enjoy life and let them have fun then once they have enjoyed life you may take it peacfully and non cruel that is the circle of life you cold hearted stones

  • humans fucking disgusting

lets make a human farm, mmmmmm yummy

  • This is not the industry standard. I worked in an egg factory. We had 2 chickens per cage not 4 or 5. Our houses were lit better. I NEVER saw a cage with hooks on it. Those are very poorly designed cages. I NEVER saw a chicken with a boil or other large infection, no sinus infections, we ventilated constantly. The air was not full of dust. We did have a automatic feeder that would occasionally cut off a chickens head tho. Any chicken that died Had a mini autopsy to check for diseases.

  • This video is annoying to watch, im never eating caged eggs again. Im a freeranged man now!!
