#77 Rare Bear Unlimited Class Racer being towed out to the starting line up for the Gold Unlimited race on Sunday. Pilot John Penny from Evergreen Colorado had to declare a May-Day a few laps into the race due to engine problems. Last year Rare Bear took First place in the Unlimited Gold only to discover that after winning the race his throttle was stuck in the wide open position. After landing John hit both fire bottles to put the fire out. The engine Rare Bear has is the one from Tom Dwelly`s Sea Fury "Critical Mass, Race 10". Critical Mass is going through major modifications to put it back to a "Daily Flyer" 2 seat trainer aircraft by Brian and Dennis Sanders at Sanders Aeronautics at the Eagles Nest Airport near Ione Calif. Also, the wings from Critical Mass were installed onto Mike Browns Sea Fury, September Fury that placed #3 in the Unlimited Gold race on Sunday at a speed of 473.816MPH. The Bear Country lift at the end of this video provided a top notch view for supporters of this Aircraft.

Too bad Bear had to pull out of the race on Sunday; but thank goodness he didn't wreck.
