just how lazy are these people who use disabled parking places to go into a store? Im sure theres an open spot 10 feet away, but no, they want the disabled parking spot... We all see this all the time. Able bodied people parking in those spots. The $1,000 fine is awesome! More citys should do this since they need the money, and these dumb asses are everywhere!

@TVman1981 That's is incredibly dumb way to try and explain yourself. This is why I personally hate media, and hate the people who love to swim in it. No one needs to know what people do, we don't need to see the faces or the vehicles. Simply show your own face saying police are cracking down on this or that or don't say a damn thing and let the dumb asses get caught.

When I worked as a LED for a local university, looking up placards for the officers was my favorite thing to do. I love calling up the dorm and looking to see if a person's grandmother is there visiting them.

$900 file for misusing a placard is all well and good, but I hope they are understanding in situations where a person parks in a handicap space inadvertently. I know of a couple places where the handicap spaces (which are supposed to be painted in blue, with a painted symbol on the floor and a have a sign) are very poorly marked. White lines, no floor marking and the blue on the sign is so faded you have to look at it from an angle to see the original writing.

If it's clear, then go for it.

@therealhardrock They don't "HAVE TO" get signed waivers, but non-news TV programs often will to be safe. Public place = no recourse, especially when you are talking about the freedom of the press to report on public-interest stories. Right there in the 1st Amendment.
