The war on Christmas is IN THE BIBLE!
Jeremiah 10:2-4

Ya, that's in Jeremiah. It specifically says not to put a tree in your house and decorate it.

@Wallyrus I believe the bible even says that you are not supposed to celebrate like the pagans, with a tree even!

24 to 25 December, I celebrate the winter solstice, Roman style.
Have a big party with people I'm close to, eat and drink like a pig, and trade presents.
The rest commemorate the birth of some kid and fat guy coca-cola created, really I think this people should make their own traditions instead of stealing them from others, but hell, commemorating the cycles of earth is a time for joy not petty things.

@Wallyrus The image of santa is partly based on an old norse version of gnomes called "nisser". This includes things like giving santa food on christmas, that he gives presents, and the outfit.

What makes this whole thing even funnier, is that Christmas was NOT originally a Christian holiday!
1) Jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25. There was no Dec. 25 for Jesus. The 12 month calendar was a pagan invention and Dec. 25 was THEIR special day.
2) The Christmas tree was a pagan tradition. In order to refuel the dying, winter sun they'd burn trees.
