Ultra Anchor being set in 18 feet of water

This is a video of an Ultra Anchor being set in 18 feet of water in Emerald Bay. We filmed this weekend, 5 July 2008. Watch the relative movement of the anchor to the bits of seaweed on the sea floor. The shank of the stainless steel anchor is originally facing away from the direction of pull so the first movements of the anchor is to swing around while beginning to penetrate. Notice that it sets within its own length. The bottom is sand with a little gravel (see shot of seafloor near beginning of video). Anchor size is 18 pounds UA8-18 with, 3 feet of 1/4 inch chain connected to a QL25X60 Quickline Flat Rope & Reel on the Gecko Gecko. The scope is about 2.5 to 1 at maximum pull.
