He's a 70 in lvl 60 blue pvp gear. If you'll notice he has both Water Elemental + improved counterspell, that's 61 talent points spent.

The reason you see him running and spamming icelance vs the priest is number 1 he doesn't have the health pool to stay anywhere near the priest eat a psychic scream + dots and burn. and #2 his mana pool is probably crap, therefore he's bursting on shatter, and using icelance to gain clearcasting procs to then fire off frostbolts

@SamuraiGrafix yup the vid was taken during season 3 and the first priest im against was full s3 geared. with the lvl 60 gear i had 5k mana and 200 spell damage. the strategy was more of luring the priest to dps me and thus oom himself while i poly reset for drinks

this is the way a mage should be played. i have an 80 frost mage and this stile of dueling/pvping is the way to go in bg. when in close range combat icelance/frost nova is godsend.

and about his god damned level, we know he is not lvl 60 and i know as well that he is probably 66+ cause of icelance but he is wearing 60 pvp gear. he's wearing the gear probably to make up for lack of crit and rez with higher level gear.

But that still doesn't change the fact that this dude knows how to play a mage
