Tawnee Cries Over Horse Abuse

NorCal Equine Rescue cofounder Tawnee Preisner cries on the way home from witnessing some of the worst, blatant horse abuse ever inflicted upon a young horse. This baby horse was dumped at a staging area for horses on their way to Mexico to be slaughtered, but they knew he would never make it.

Tawnee turned the truck cam on herself for a rare glimpse at the emotional side of rescue work.

@aishalovesdemiselena cause if they "let them into the wild they would repopulate and there would be to many, or they would wander out in the road and you would a hit a horse instead of a deer. and they slaughter them because they get to old to ride, or they get arthritis and then they make them into dog food or glue.

Why do they slaughter them?? I mean alot of people love horses and they r super expensive to own. So why wud they just kill it, why can't they sell them or let them into the wild!?

@blondevilangel Oh I reread the description =( I can't believe people can be so heartless. You gave him the warmth and love he longed for. It must have been so hard to be strong for him. We can't save them all and I think that's the hardest part. Thank God you guys were there to let him know he was loved and that he will not be forgotten.

Tawnee, I don't have time to read the blogs daily, but happened to see this one. I was crying long before I watched the video here. Incomprehensible... Surreal. Thank you for doing what you do and know that you are not alone. Rats, indeed. Any human who believes himself to be superior to any of God's creatures has no soul. For that, I pity them. What an empty and loveless life they lead. That baby knew your kindness and love before he gently left his magled body behind. In love, Deanna

My heart goes out to you...... I'm fortunate enough to have friends who have rescues.... I myself do not have a horse but the friends of mine that do have rescues, those horses are now leading happier, healthier lives thanks to people like you :)

Oh, Tawnee, my heart goes out to you. I was bawling as read the Blog, the poor, poor foal. Please take comfort knowing that he DID feel safe, and LOVED thanks to YOU and the rescue that you and Jason founded. You have done the right thing, even though it hurts. We all love you and what you do Tawnee and Jason, please never stop doing what you do, the horses need more amazing people like you! We will do all we can to help donate funds to help the "DANO" fund. *Sigh*

OMG Tawnee i get the NORCAL e-mails and when i opened it today i was so disgusted.I was also crying at the condition of this poor little horse as well as the mare with both her eyes gone.From the other cripple horses to the sweet soul you helped out of this world they were all pittiful.Humans can be so greedy.To make an animal suffer in the way these horses do all for the lust of a few dollars.One can only hope that there "is" a hell for people such as these.We feel your pain xo
