Saudi Arabia Reflections

I created this reflection, following my participation in the December 2008 Educators to Saudi Arabia Program (ESAP). This is a 10 day study tour of the Kingdom, which led 25 US teachers through the culture and history of Dhahran, Jiddah, and Riyadh.

I'm from Riyadh, I'm studying in there. my friends those are girls they hate this country because women are not permitted to Drive in street. Do you think allowing this thing can hold up the past culture of KSA or not .

In Quran there is nothing said that women can't drive in the street. if they can walk in the street than they can't drive.

@USteacher73 who the hell said that i never heard a single British or else saying that Saudi hate women dear what ever religion what ever color man loves women and thats a fact . i know there are lots good people in western and i do respect their believes but be honest do u really think people are not materialistic on this side of world yes they are . do u know what is the rape rate in usa check it and then compare it with ksa

@kashmiriway - I am not sure what you were responding to. My comments are not in disagreement with what you said. In fact, I do not agree with those that say that Saudis hate women. However, I also do not think that you should be generalizing us as purely materialistic and far from religion; despite the possessions Westerners have, or what their religious beliefs may be, we have a lot good people who respect women here, just as KSA has people who do not.
