@tuzijatekos will CuCl2 instead of the copper(I) salt work?....Im a not doing this in our r chem lab but at home and have to get whichever chemicals I can. CuCl2 is an easy chemical to make at home....in theory you can do it with CuCl2 since CuCl2 dissolves very easily in HCl

how do you get them to dissolve....I tried copper sulphate in surgical spirit(supposedly high purity ethanol) and it would not dissolve...I also tried sodium chloride....does heating help??
