  • Personally, I prefer editing cards at a PC, i.e. with a full keyboard and the ability to quickly search for images and sounds to include in cards. But I know that not everyone works this way, and also that this kind of thing is becoming more convenient on tablets. A possible workaround would be to add a type of 'dog ear' (i.e., to metaphorically bend the corner of a card) feature for marking cards that require corrections or adjustments so that they could be easily found later at a PC.

  • Other people (see the Mnemosyne developers list) are working on full two-way synchronisation protocols as part of Mnemosyne 2.x. A client based on this protocol would be able to support adding and editing.

  • I know that being able to add and edit cards would be a useful feature for many people. Unfortunately, it is not really possible with the current synchronisation protocol. The main reasons are to allow minimal clients (i.e., to also support Java and Blackberry phones), and so that one-way transformations can be applied to the text of cards during an export (e.g., to include renderings of special character sets and LaTeX commands).

  • Looks good - it'd be great if you could make cards editable in the phone. I am thinking of moving to android but a good Mnemosyne client is an essential piece of software for me. On the iphone I use isrs to review & edit out the inevitable mistakes from my language flashcards. That's an essential feature for me as I am often traveling with only my phone and it would be a pain if I couldn't correct cards - I would have to make notes on which ones had errors and that's counterproductive.

  • @BZ000089 Hi, thanks for your comment. I've added a detailed reply to the Uploader's comments section.

  • Hi, thanks for your response. A 'dog ear' feature would be the next best thing if two-way sync is not currently possible. However please note that isrs for the iphone comes with a sync program (isrs sync) that allows two-way syncing with Mnemosyne .mem databases (I am using version 1.2.1). The sync program allows you to select multiple databases to be synced and whether they will be synced to the phone or computer. I use it on a Mac so I'm not 100% sure if it's available for the PC.
