End of the Runway - UK

A short documentary about the controversial 'Third Runway' being built at Heathrow Airport. We follow NOTRAG, the local residents organization based in Hillingdon who are firmly opposed to its expansion. We also focus on the infamous climate change camp held in August 2007 by climate change campaigners concerned with the negative effects that the expansion of Heathrow Airport will have on the planet.

London Heathrow is already operating to 98% capacity. Already, airlines are shifting their hubs to Paris, Amsterday, Frankfurt where the airports are huge.

Why are you Brits so old fashioned in your mindset??? If the Gov. was compensating me to be located to a better place, why not !

I have heard the news about the Thames Estuary airport or "Boris Island airport". WIsh it would come up sooner than later. Looks like a massive project, jobs for people and boost to the economy.

I have absolutely no vested interest, apart from a desire to see the British economy prosper and not stagnate..... What annoys me is these NIMBYs who decide to live at various locations in the UK, be it an airfield or a racing circuit, then do nothing but moan and try quite often to get the places closed, they make me want to vomit. They have no right to complain yet all we hear is their constant griping, no-one put a gun to their heads and forced them to move there.

How many of the protesters look as though they're nonagenerians....? Hmmm...none mefinks. There's been an airfield there since WWI, and an airport since WWII, they are NIMBY's.... end of....

Wrong, the airport is at over 99% capacity now, and for safety they have to allow minimum 1 minute seperation between aircraft, which is what they do presently. Please tell us o'knowledgable one how improved ATC procedures can solve this problem..... A third runway will drastically reduce hold times thus reducing CO2 emissions, its really that simple!

werid most other airoports in UK are going expand but hethrow is the only one they are brotherd about . And the airoplanes waiting in the for a spot to land is good for the enivorment and hethrow is at 99% capasity

It will be the same working class people that will protest the fact that they need a job after they kill economic development. Besides how dim can some of them be? What on earth is that peace flag doing there? What does the peace flag have to do with a protest against a runway. I would also like to know howmany of those antipollution geniuses are smokers.
