Classic editing 2006-2008

No Fx no Transitions No masks just crossfades,
I justed started editing bout 8 months now so i met this new generation of fx. But iJust something i threw together just to ask fellow editors personally why no one edit's like the 2006-2008 days. Like sometime's new isnt always best but i just wanted a answer. And yes i know this is shit but its the answers im looking for not criticism about the video.

Also, 06-08 isn't "classic", since the oldest AMV i can recall of was made in the late 80's - early 90's :-).

it's because editing is evolutionary. It's survival of the fittest techniques. When we learn something new, we try it out. If it works, we keep using it. If it doesn't work, it's scrapped. Raw editing (my style) is getting outdated by the newer and more evolved styles (like Salvadorian21j's) so most raw editors have "died off". I'm just too stubborn/lazy/noobish to add more effects than I have right now

well its not like people dont want to edit like in the old days.. I guess beta's took over and easy editing started playing around xD I guess people from 2006-2008 put more efford in their vids.. even though thats not always the truth, but nowadays amvs are very basic or too effect whored =P

with basic I mean Flashes radials shakes.. and maybe a gradient.

Making an AMV look good with effects is hard atleast if you're trying to not ruin the graphic of the actual footage

AMV that's raw is even harder to make as it is harder to make something raw look good and scene selectionGets Imprtant

AMVs worth real kudos is one with effects looking good and used right that does not ruin the graphic and still keeps the video looking somewhat raw looking but with boosted(concepts)synchronizati­on(not oversynced/not undersynced)/impact/emotion & flow and so on

If you look at videos from 02-03 you'd see how better they are than ones from 06-08, it's fact that everything gets worse in time, it'll probably get "better"in a few years..just to get bad again haha.

@AMVSoup 06-08 may not be classic but if you look at the good editors than they make most of the people we consider good now look like trash and they did it with less effects.

i think effects are ok as long as they make the clip look more impactly and everything but in fact nowdays people go using those ugly random effects!
