It is well within the law to trap and euthanise these birds.
Handle trapped birds with care and dispose of within the laws of your state.
If Native birds are captured in this trap they are easily released and would not make it to the holding cage.

Free feed the mynas to get them used to the trap.
Do not approach the trap during the day at all.
Feed mynas small dry dog food, Colored Rice (RED), Loaf style dog food, mince and bread crunbs, sultanas, watermelon,
Chook pellets work a treat but the Top Knots love them as well.

"Euthanising Trapped Mynas
The aim of euthanasia is to minimise or eliminate stress the birds will
experience prior to becoming unconscious.
Trap operators must be willing to accept that humane killing of
trapped birds is an important responsibility. If you feel unable to
euthanise the birds in a humane manner, or cannot arrange for humane
euthanasia to be performed by someone else, then you should
not be involved in a trapping program.
The preferred options for euthanising Mynas are:
• Cervical dislocation (breaking neck)
• Inhalation of carbon dioxide (CO2)
• Injection of a barbiturate
Euthanising with Carbon Dioxide
The Mynas are placed in a container and put to sleep with a small dose
of CO2. The container is sealed for three minutes to retain the gas and
the Mynas die quickly without stress"

i never thought of black birds as being smart..they are a nice bird to watch..
