@cardzkid I love it there, but I guess it would depend on what you want to become out of it. AIMN's VFX and motion graphics program teaches a broad amount of subjects which can lead you to becoming more of a generalist. You become good at everything, but not to the point where you are amazing at everything. See if you specifically want to only do a specific job, like become a matte painter, I think that their are probably better places. Ai teaches matte painting, but just enough start you off.

But if my goal was to become a visual effects artist, being well rounded in the knowledge of effects, you would say that this is a good place to start off?

@cardzkid Sounds like the perfect place then. The motion graphics part of the program is kinda lacking right know just because it's hard to get good teachers for it. But on the other hand you want to do visual effects and the VFX teacher at the Ai is amazing. He really makes the classes enjoyable while always teaching new things every class. Here is a video that he made about the program.
