The reason the car counts have gone down is because since 2005 Seekonk makes you pre-register for your spot, eliminating the days you could bring a car the day of the event and get in.

Too expensive to get cars. Price of scrap metal has skyrocketed in the past 3 years. Not many junk cars left sitting around.

This is pretty insane, although I'd rather see these cars go towards figures eight racing enduros

great footage, as for the uk banger racer shut up for christ sake. this person put it on here for all to enjoy, not for people to whinge about it

This isn't Banger racing and it isn't trying to be. These are people off the streets driving and crashing these cars for fun, not racers.

The demos haven't been as big since I don't think. I've been to the usually bigger ones (4th of July and Labor Day) and neither has had as many cars as they used to.

We also have something close to Banger racing at this event called Enduro Races. Full on racing, intentional crashing allowed. They also do a figure 8 enduro race, which I will take over Banger racing any day. The track has a giant X with ramps on all sides of the X's. Does banger racing use ramps to send the cars airborne into each other on the X crossing? How about using bigger cars, maybe a 70s caddy, or an 80s crown vic...didn't think so. ;-)

we do have ramp races. when you read the comments about banger racing even some of you americans think banger racing is better and harder than you pussy sport. and we have people all over the world to race in england. and we do use big caddys and put them to better use.

We can piss this one back and forth all day, as I stated, Demo Derby is NOT Banger racing...Banger racing is comparable Enduro racing here and it is not as common or even the same as Demo Derby. Sometimes they use the Enduro cars for the demo at the final events, as they do with Bangers, but they still are not the same. Go find some Enduro race videos and argue with them about it, as it is more comparable to them as Demos.
