flying with Luigi

People have wondered how service dogs go during flights... well I filmed it for you all. Its pretty boring, but shows exactly what its like to fly with your service dog. :-)

I'm considering a service dog, and occasionally need to fly as well. One of the questions I've had is: Where/how do they go to the bathroom on the plane if it's a long flight? Do you have them go on a potty pad, and if so, how do you dispose of it properly? Also, for a bigger dog, would you need to buy an extra "seat" so they'd have room to lay on the floor? Thanks!

@limbrooke83 Your service dog should be potty trained well enough to hold on or at least 5 hours at a time. If your flying longer then that I suppose the only alternative is to potty pad them and ask the flight crew how they would like you to dispose of it. My guess is to double bag it and dispose of it in a bin. I am in Australia and here we do not have to pay for the extra seat - that is automatically allocated when you book with a service dog.

@Boonanzar We are sitting in bulkhead (the first row) Luigi has the window seat, I have the isle seat. :-)

Service dogs or any dog can go over 5 hours without going pee.

What about night time when your sleeping you sleep more than 5 hours.
