iPad 3 Launching Fall 2011?

Prior to the iPad 2 launch in March several analysts predicted that Apple would launch two iPad incarnations in 2011. At the time those rumors seemed absurd but this week a new wave of rumors hit the mill again predicting an iPad hardware refresh for late 2011. The summary of these rumors: retina display, lighter, thinner, October 2011. I'm calling BS on this one, an iPad 3 launch in 2011 doesn't make any sense at all.

The way Apple markets their products is effective, but scumbag ish in a way too. They release the product, iPad 2 for example, in early spring. Most people will buy the iPad or the product in the summer or winter for Christmas. After the last of the population gets the iPad 2 as Christmas gifts, they release the NEW-er product in the early spring again. This keeps the consumers wanting 'the new big thing', and in my opinion, a really efficient stragity.
