This is a video of Joe Bonamassa and Alex Skolnick doing a blues jam at the Yamaha booth at NAMM 2009. I was introduced to Joe's music about 6 months ago. He was one of the nicest and most talented musicians I met at NAMM this year. Yes, I realize I am not a champion videographer, but he is a bad ass, so hopefully that makes up for it. In this clip Alex and Joe play Woke Up Dreaming.

the other guy is good but when joe starts his solo you could instantly tell joe's playing is in another world....the other guy looked like he was strugling to play that fast , joe was just like , makeing it look easy!!

Skolnick is a great guitarist (first saw him on That Metal Show and have begun following his work since). I think we can agree that Joe smoked him but in his defense, he was out of his element, which is metal. Outmatched and out of element. In a metal standoff, I'm not sure who would win. Probably Joe though.
