@SomethingBlueStudios - Is there a way for developers to host their own applications?
That's how it works for Windows and Linux, and it's great. I can install whatever software I like, write my own, publish my own, etc.

hey i noticed ur framerate will drop if u get too many sprites onscreen at once. im guessing ur drawing ur sprites one at a time? what u should do is create an array of vertices (1 vert per sprite). then texture each vert as a point sprite. use a 64x64 pixel image in the power vr format. if u do this, u can achieve the same results only with thousands of balls at 60 frames per second ;) i actually have a particle emitter system that can do this in 2D and 3D. I might upload that video...

what is the limit of sprites you can add at a given time without the frame rates dropping significantly??

how do you add objects
SDK is free, if you want to publish it'll be $99 a year plus 30% of your profit will go to Apple. That may sound unfair to the uninitiated but it's a hell of a deal. The hosting and direct line to the consumer alone via the app store more than covers it.

maybe your right.. maybe apple should stop hosting the app store for 3rd party developers and force them to find their own ways to get their apps to the public and.. nah i think i would rather pay a small amount to the company that sells the iphone/ipod which is already incredibly well established and have thousands view my app shortly after its been added to the store. :P
Its incredibly fair, even if the profit they reap well exceeds the money it takes to run the app store.. lol.
