A 1975 film starring Gene Hackman as Harry Moseby, a private eye that gets in way over his head. A great movie directed by the very talented Arthur Penn (Bonnie and Clyde). Hackman turns in another awesome performance. If you love movies, this is one you shouldn't miss.

  • Wow, they revealed the action packed ending in the trailer, those a**holes. Ok so I understand when you have a great movie that only has ONE real action scene, you want to put this "money shot" in the trailer, but considering that the big finale comes as a massive AWESOME surprise after sitting through 90 minutes of a somewhat subdued, atmospheric noir drama, it's a shame they revealed it in the trailer. It should have been kept a surprise. Glad I didn't see the trailer in advance. Amazing film.

  • my kind of movie-watched the dvd 3x last year!

  • RIP Arthur Penn,1922-2010

  • One of my favs but one thing has bugged me for 34 years. I know the main music was by Michael Small but in the fight scene with James Woods when he hits Harry with a guitar there is a piece of rock music playing in the background. Very fast legato guitar pre-Holdsworth. Anyone know who it is?

  • @willerror This is better than Chinatown.

  • Amazing film, one of bes I have watched in fact

  • A vastly underrated, underseen '70s classic. Chinatown gets all the props (which it deserves) but damn, this is excellent. One of Hackman's very best, & the movie has a fantastic, bang-up explosive climax. It's true--they dont' make 'em like this anymore!

  • lol its not,really

  • I'm gonna rent this!

    If I can.
