From late '60s or early 70s, a cool reel/radio combo stereo I got on 2/14/08. Although there is some hiss in the right speaker, and recording quality isn't as great as the reel-to-reel format is capable of, it's stilla a really nice set. The tuning of the AM/FM radio can be tuned manually or by UP and DOWN buttons as a SEEK funtion that is motorized. It needed a knob for transport, new speaker jack (I put in 2 RCA jacks to relace the 1/8 inch jacks, one was broken), replace one light bulb, and get the radio dial light to work.

  • Hello CassetteMaster, nice taperecorder and the

build in tuner is verry special, some poeple here

in Holland think that AM is in stereo in the U.S.A.

and that the soundquality is a little bit better than

in europe because they use more bandwide.

Is that true? Thanks for posting.

  • Although AM stereo exists, it is very rare and was more common on the 1980s and 90s I think. I own no AM stereo machines I know of for sure, unless the car has one.

  • hello there cassettemaster, i'm just wondering since you have the phono input on that system, is it possible to connect a cd player or minidisk recorder etc. upto it, please reply, thanks jamespw22

  • I think it has an AUX input for recording, but the Phono one I believe has a preamp for magnetic cartridges and would have an overdriven sound when used with line out. I believe.

  • soundesign speakers?

  • They're Onkyo! I says it on the inside on the magnets. Each time you mention Soundesign, I laugh! I love it!
