June 4, 2009: On June 3, there were two eaglets in the nest. Early morning June 4, one of the eaglets fell out of the nest. Earlier this year, one of the eggs rolled out of the nest. Last year, both eaglets fell out of the nest before they fledged. One was able to scramble back in, but the other was found injured and taken to OWL for rehabilitation. The nest is in a state of disrepair and the tree is rotting. It was hoped that the eagles would not make a nest here in 2009.

The eaglet which fell out this year did not survive.

  • Could the nest and/or tree be taken down to prevent it's reuse?

  • @windmillstables1 The tree is on private property. The owners may need a permit to remove a tree with an eagle nest. The camera was removed some time ago.
