I got an old Russian 8mm film camera from a market in Israel. I did'nt know it worked when I got it, but it's even better now that I know it does! But I've never shot on film before and I know pretty much nothing about it. So if anybody has any info about the camera, developing film, price of film, where to get film, light meter on the camera, or anything else, I'd like to hear from you.

  • You probably have figured this out by now but here goes. Push and turn the lens counter clockwise. After you remove it there will be a 12mm standard lens built in. You can get double 8mm film online. 25ft roll is what you need and how it works can be found online. The dial that is under the FPS dial is for rewinding film for in camera dissolves. The shiny half of that dial (on) should be towards the top of the camera for normal use. The other setting pulls out the film claw for rewinding.

  • Go to Cheap Books and buy a old film book , they have info on film cameras. I bought a book called "Cinematography a guide for film makers and film teachers , second edition" i bought it for the lighting and comp info but it has a whole lot on film cameras , setting up film in the camera , editing film and more.

  • This is siq! I will try to find out info for you because I took some film camera classes...
