I have too much time on my hands today apparently. Anyway, for future comments regarding anything I am saying. I am not trying to 'convince' anyone about this or that. People have their opinions on this matter and they are intitled for it. I am simply expressing what I feel about it and such, I am, however, NOT trying to change anyone's opinion as couple of people seem to have believed. :)

I just feel that Hamelim, regardless of how slight the contact was, he should have been DQed as well. I have no bitternness whatsoever, in fact, I applaud that the Canadians did as well as they did. I just think your comment regarding 'convincing agrument next time' and your not-so-friendly suggestion was little uncalled for in normal mature conversation :)

(continued) but I dont those contacts were intentional. However, Sung fell just as Hamelins hand made contact so therefore, I think he should have been DQed for it. As for you suggestion on watching Olympics and 'more convincing agrument' - this is not agrument at all, this is mature civilized debate. I saw the same video and base my judgment on the rules of the game. I am American but based on rules, even i felt the DQ on Ohno was justifed.

@Eshalmamood, I watched the video but never saw any contact between Sung and Hamelin before Sung fell, at least enough to realy make difference during the call in question. Yes, I agree Sung had corrected himself and in the process of doing that ,Hamelin was attempting to overtake him., in which, he in fact did make contact with Sung and he was falling. He did put his hand down in attempt to try to upright him and Hamelims foot made contact..

Well I know the chief ref. is the one that calls the shots. I supported the fact Ohno was DQed, however, I felt that Hamelin should have been DQed as well.

Our country won these gold medals due to hard work, intense practice, and simply fair play. Maybe you shouldn't watch the Olympics whenever it isn't hosted in your country so you could use a different, and perhaps more convincing argument next time around.

As far as the Olympic officials are concerned, the decision of disqualification is made by all of the referees present at any one event. These referees come from different parts of the world, and aren't solely from the host country.

Sung made contact with Hamelin first. The Korean was already falling before any physical contact was made. When Sung attempted to maintain his balance, he extended his arm into Hamelin's track, and therefore committed the offence of cross tracking. He only slipped right off the ice when his extended arm made direct contact with Hamelin's skates. You can tell the Korean almost put out Hamelin' s skate, but luckily, the latter was able to maintain his momentum, and dart past the finish line.

Yes, I did notice Sung original did hit a rut but as he was starting to get his balance back, that is when Hamelin made contact, and Sung fell down afterwards, so in my own opinion, due to the fact he fell immediately as Hamelin put his hand on him, he should have been DQed.
Um, Hamelin finished first. There wasn't any controversy over his win. I think in your own troll-like way you're trying to refer to Ohno's disqualification which was over the other Canadian skater, who ended up getting bronze.
Don't beat yourself up though, it's a mistake any uninformed moron could make.
