Here is a clip of the Hot Five Jazzmakers from February 16th 2002. Guesting on clarinet is Steve Mellor, vacationing from England.
The band is playing in its regular Saturday Matinee spot "C'est what?" in downtown Toronto and it is in the old stage bar.
The current regular front line is in place, with Janet Shaw - reeds; Andrej Saradin -cornet and Brian Towers - trombone/leader.
Rhythm section is Reide Kaiser - piano; Colin Bray - string bass and Gary Scriven - drums. This was before they left H5JM to join Jeff Healey's Jazz Wizards.
Rainer Hunck later rejoined the "Happy Pals" on banjo.
We are grateful to Marjetta for filming and donating this video to the band. Regrettably we have lost her new email address! Hopefully she will see this video and we will be able to express our appreciation directly!
Good job, guys. Good song. Looks like the hot "7"
