Badaboom description:
Version 1.1 of Elemental Technologies Badaboom™ Media Converter is here!
Badaboom™ takes a fundamentally different approach to video format conversion from other solutions. Instead of performing format conversion on the CPU, it harnesses massively parallel GPUs from NVIDIA. By using the power of the GPU, the time required for video conversion is reduced. As an added bonus, you can still use the CPU for normal everyday tasks such as email and internet browsing. Anyone can now painlessly convert video between formats including AVCHD, leaving more time to enjoy the video and eliminating the frustration of video conversion delays. Not only is the Badaboom™ Media Converter fast and easy to use, it provides high quality output (up to 1080p!) to keep your videos looking crisp and clear. * Input video formats MPEG2, H.264, RAW*, HDV, AVCHD, MPEG1, WMV, VC1, DivX, Xvid * Input audio formats AC-3, MP2, PCM, AAC * Input file types .m2v, .mpg, .vob, .avi*, .trp, .ts, .m2t, .m2ts, .mpeg, .mts, .mov, .mp4, .mkv, .wmv** * Input resolutions supported 1920x1080 and below * Output video formats supported H.264 (MP4) Baseline Profile, H.264 (MP4) Main Profile * Output audio formats AAC-LC (2 channel) * Output resolutions supported 1920x1080 and below * Hardware compatibility Badaboom is compatible with all CUDA enabled NVIDIA GPUs which are described on the NVIDIA site. * Software compatibility Badaboom currently supports Microsoft Windows only. Windows Vista 32, Windows Vista 64, Windows XP 32 and Windows XP 64 are supported
*RAW 4:2:0 only
**WMV Pro Audio not supported
System Requirements ↑
Minimum System Requirements
1.6 GHz Intel or AMD dual core CPU
NVIDIA GeForce 8 series or later CUDA enabled GPU
Windows XP 32-bit or 64-bit
Windows Vista 32 or 64-bit
Recommended System Requirements
2.4 GHz Intel or AMD dual core CPU
NVIDIA 8800 GT or later CUDA enabled GPU

I'm looking for some kind of plugin or software that can use the GPU for any CPU tasks, at least video rendering. Any ideas??

@Garofild Mediacoder is now standard for using Nvidia GPUs to encode using CUDA. On the other hand, GPUs compute in a parallel manner whereas CPUs compute in a sequential manner, so it's very difficult to get CPU-based sotware to run on a GPU. That's what CUDA is all about, but it still requires entirely new programs.

@speedgamer01 Try the CUDA encoder on Mediacoder.

Badaboom Error Occurred
an Internal application error occurred. See the 'C:\User\Example\AppData\Local\Temp\Badaboom\Badaboom Log.txt' file for details.
I get this error on Windows 7 64bit when trying to convert using my GTX470 but if I switch it to My 8600GT which i have running my third monitor it runs fine Ill PM you the Log files if you are willing to help thank you

@1800Supreme with that encoder I mentioned use High profile, 16 b-frames, CABAC [context-adaptive binary arithematic coding] (but requires 2x computation time) and dynamic GOP [group of pictures] (requires more computation time).
x264 is a really good CPU-accelerated H.264 encoder, it edges out Nvidia's encoder in quality most of the time.
