Country Gardens composed by Percy Grainger. I remember watching on BBC a programme years ago about Delius (?) which featured Percy Grainger running though the house throwing a ball over the roof! They don't make them like that anymore! (No wonder it was one of the Ken Russel series about composers!) A friend once played it for me on the piano over 40 years ago - I remember the instruction for one note - Fist! Pics of my garden and the Mayflies.
Surely it wasn't Percy Grainger who composed Danny Boy aka The Derry Air?? I don't believe you!!

@squirell1952 Nah - he composed various settings - "Irish tune from COunty Derry"
"The tune was collected by Miss J. [Jane] Ross, of New Town, Limavady Co. Derry (Ireland) and printed in
The Petrie Collection of the Ancient Music of Ireland (Dublin, 1855) on page 57 of which collection the following remarks by George Petrie go before the tune, which is headed: 'Name unknown':

I object to the title omitting the word 'English' from its title.

@kamelion7 It is omitted for that is not the name of the music by Grainger. You are thinking of the bastardised version sung by another Australian, Rolf Harris. I spose it could be any garden that Grainger was thinking about but being English and the fact that he was here, we assumed the garden to be English!
