Solar Villages Narian Khorian in Rawalpindi, Pakistan

here is a view of solar village of Narian Khorian - 2 model villages with solar pv deployments. The villages are extremely poor, without any access to electricity and natural gas. Villager in the video is specifically complaining about the present energy situation in the village, and specifically mentions that we (the villagers) are sick of these solar panels, as they are only 'show-pieces' which have no utility for us. Note that these solar panels were deployed somewhere in 2005-06, and are not in operation since 2007. Despite of numerous complaints to government and energy suppliers, there is no solution to the problem yet. Instead, the irony is that the nearby villages are going to get conventional grid electricity, and these two villages won't, as according to govt, they have already spent millions in these two villages!!!
