This is the ending suite I composed for the Harmony Of A Hunter album, the tribute to the music of Metroid on it's 25th anniversary. The ending suite is comprised of music from the ending of the first four games in the series. The album is featured on many sites, including OCRemix.org.

Be sure to download the complete album, with more tracks by me and many other musicians, by visiting www.shinesparkers.net

And feel free to visit my site for more music: www.samostudios.com

  • I'm just curious. Have you ever gone by the name "Kanjika" in any other video game song remixes? I swear you and Kanjika from the Sonic the hedgehog "Project Chaos" album have similar styles of making such amazing music.

  • @neutralbobomb

Nah that ain't me, I'm too lazy for aliases, so my stuff's always under my own name hehe. Orchestral Sonic remixes? Sweet, might have to check that out sometime.

  • Sam, you are amazing. This is an amazing piece, and it sounds so realistic, you mastered the balance of sound in the orchestra. Im wondering what program you used, and what instrument/s do you use for the runs?

  • @rndowen01 Thanks man, Sonar for the composition, the realism was the difficult part which required weeks of trial and error mostly. Runs were all done manually, used a few libraries like EWQLSO (there's more about all the stuff I use on my website)

  • Thanks for the comments guys! :D

  • The Metroid II ending theme brought tears to my eyes. I haven't heard that song since I was eight years old. Bravo sir, bravo.

  • People always say that video game music is just the same 5 notes played over and over. This album, my fellow Metroid fans, is a triumphant collection of proof that video game music is art. This music should be used in a game at one point or another.

This is Death Recon of the MDb forums, if you wanted to know.

  • You are incredibly skilled. I never liked the ending theme of Metroid 2 until you touched it. It's because you don't just re-do the music, you actually add to it. It's a shame you have so few views, more people need to see this.

  • wow if they ever remade the original metroid or made a new metroid game that was really epic they should use your music!

  • Fantastic, fantastic piece. Not sure if you feel inspired by, or were going for this feel, but I got a pretty strong sense of John Williams from the piece. To be sure, "large orchestral arrangement" does not John Williams make, but I could hear Jurassic Park in there :-). Either way, big kudos to you!

  • This is simply AMAZING. o_O I mean, WOW! I get overwhelmed with tears of joy when I hear this. It's epic. It's beautiful. It's sweeping. It's definitely fitting of the Metroid series.

If we ever get an epic Metroid movie, THIS is the kind of theme I imagine being used for it. We can only hope the film would be as incredible as this musical suite.

  • absolutely stunning VERY VERY good job!!

  • I have not favorited a video in at least half a year, probably more. Thank you for ending my drought. You have such a musical gift!
