crazyness...you must find one!
Throws electrons off the tube plate randomly by exposing the tube to a magnetic field generated by two massive magnets. ASA, AF, RF, and LF 'noise' settings...anyone know what those stand for? The RNG is an H.H. Scott type 811-B, and was QUITE the find today!
Of course, running it through the SunSyn is heaven on earth...talk about fattening up even wide-open filter basslines! Wish I had to to show you it modulating the VCO FM... makes your 2006 sunsyn sound like a drifting quirky vintage modular. Amazing stuff!
All for $35 USD at the local surplus store....
This video demonstrates the SunSyn's capabliities as a real time, grandiose EQ. I guess someone could bring the argument that with it come some changing dynamics. Sound sculpting greatly interests me, but to assimilate something like this into my arsenal, I need demos which can demonstrate its capabilities as a real time instrument, beyond EQ modulation.

@nightskytube check this demo out..it's only using one of eight voices, and it's only using ONE RCO oscillator... you won't believe what you hear...

great noise! If only all surplus stores had such goodies :)
The sunsyn looks so attractive. Pity they're so hard to get.
The digital noise generators I've heard sound horrible generally because of the limited bandwidth.. I think our ears really can sense frequencies > 20khz, we just don't "hear" them like the lower frequencies.
The noise generator in my mks-80 is crisp and lovely. Anyone else have a favourite white noise generator?

miltary surplus stores are best bet...
but, I like the m3X's pink noise generator, as well as the sh-09's!!!
indeed, sampled noise from freeways is also very full spectrum with a degree of randomness that is both soothing and surprising at the same time.

Why are you making silly noises? what for?

coming from a person named 'panfart', i shouldn't have to explain, namely, that the root of all joy of subtractive synthesis is indeed the quest for the ultimate fart.
