If a production run was very long for instance many thousands of parts each with many bends then automation via press tools or robotics bending cells may be worth considering. When you have smaller batches of work such as these or when each new part to be CNC bent within a day is different in material type, size, complexity and batch size then a human operator is always more flexible. Also, the sheet metal part design can change from batch to batch needing the flexiblilty that people bring.
