Thanks :-)
I was actually scheduled to only play pre-event music as people were entering the auditorium, so it was intended to be background music even though I was up on a 'stage'. I appreciate your support!

I can't understand why you go from Db to Gb before the Dm7b5. Gb -> Dm7b5 is a really awkward transition, and the Gb is really not necessary in the progression anyway.
Otherwise, nice performance. :)

I just like the bass movement from Db to Gb and the way it sounds (to my ears). It's totally subjective.
Thanks.

Could you share your method of learning jazz piano?

I was fortunate to have a variety of jazz teachers including Robert Lague, Ran Blake, Sandi Peaslee, Jeffrey Leonard, Peter Cassino. I like listening to jazz pianists such as Oscar Peterson, Lyle Mays, Makoto Ozone, Bill Evans, Dave McKenna. I don't read notes much, but for good readers who want to learn jazz piano I recommend Sarah Jane Cion's books 'Modern Jazz Piano' and 'The Pianists Jammin Handbook!'
