Coal Fire

I've just built a fireplace, but it's filling the room with smoke.
Does anyone know why?

is it filling the front bedroom aswell through the air vent try using s smoke bomb in the flu but make sure the front room doors and windows are shut. thn get some one to check outside see if any smoke is coming from the chimney if not you need a chimney sweep. were in hartlepool is the house and how long aint the chimney been used for?

Hi there corsalad. The fire has been used as a gas fire for years. It seems to have plenty of suction too. maybee it just needs cleaning. it's on the Headland bye the way

ya. thats not very good. check if ur damper is open or else ur ceiling will be black and the place will be filled with carbon monoxide

yeah will need cleaning then as there old houses over there ya might have an old birds next up there or something just call a local chimney sweep n he will sort it for ya

maybe the chimney needs cleaning? you may have a blockage :)
