Traditional Chinese Painting - Chinese Flower Bird Painting - Watercolor.Exactly what it is. I am learning. THis isnt right by a long way. Not because of the leaf formations, but because the paper was a little too damp. But for me, even in this, I absolutely love the way the ink crawls through the paper fibres. I have started growing a kind of raw apreciation for the way the tree fibres are matted together and the way the water pulls the soot particles throguh itself and filters the finest dust to the edges of the soak pattern.
I love the way the paint sits on and inside the paper fibres; amongst them.
I really enjoy now the act of the painting as much and sometimes more than the finishes product simply because of the ancientness of the action and that I am doing something with materials that are almost exactly the same as; and come from the same soil and plants and country, that the ancient masters would have done thousands of years before me in different lands.
I am not CHinese nor will ever be at the standard they were, maybe when I am ninety, but for now, in my greenery of tuition and self studies, I really enjoy this Artform. Despite eveyrhting , I find immense pleasure in trying.
