The lack of leadership is one of the main causes for mlm or network marketing failure.

Don't believe me? Let's look at 2 of the main reasons peopls say they fail at mlm.

1. I can't sponsor people. What does this have to do with leadership? Everything. John Maxwell defines leadership as "influence" or the ability to gain followers. Can't sponsor people? That means you have a low ability when it comes to leadership. If you truly want to grow a walk away income in this business, you must learn how to sponsor others. The better you learn how to lead or influence others, the better you will become at sponsoring.

2. "I have no upline support" - This is a common reason that people say they fail at mlm. There are actually 2 people at fault here. The first person is the sponsoree, or the one who is sponsored. They have no self leadership and therefore are failing because of their inability to lead them self. The next person is the upline who doens't have enough leadership or influence to keep people in their business.

In later lessons on leadership, we'll be talking about the 5 levels of influence and how you can apply them to grow a great mlm or network marketing business.

  • So are you selling the "system" as your business? Getting all snazzy dressed up and making videos? Is that the business you're in? What REAL MLM business are you promoting and creating residual income with?
