You're right, but this is medieval latin, when the prepositions were taking the place of the cases; for this "de" is used for genitive, instead of ablative, like in Italian today.

@topbluffa1 I type rather quickly -- 110 wpm -- and I do not make typos such as 'serptent'. I'm pretty certain the little red squiggly line beneath that word means it is misspelled. I'm also reasonably certain that it occurs even when uploading and tagging videos. In the internet age, there's no excuse for things like that. Online dictionaries, spell-checks... no excuse.

And like I said. It was just a question.
