The local celebrities return to our garden. Back in early 2010 a peacock and pea hen partnership left their home locally. Nobody knows where that home was and no-one has come forward to claim them. Yet these two large birds went on the roam and have made their homes around the village of Hordle, in the New Forest. Periodically they turn up in our garden.
A few months after leaving their home they obviously decided to have a family and what was once two birds roaming the neighbourhood is now a family of five.
They do no harm, except that they are very noisy in the early morning! Even our cat is not bothered by them, as you will see in this video. It's a wonderful sight and one that we think is unusual.They are not scared of humans. They are curious in nature and are always together as a family. But for how long . . . who knows!!
