Hardball discussion on President's new Council on Women and Girls. Hey I thought this was the new bipartisan White House. Make special note of all the special things Chris Matthews thinks the government should do for women. But Michelle Bernard, a conservative says her group was not included in this Council on Women and Girls.
conservative women dont count. they are conservative and women. thats a double whammy

It's not the most politically correct position, but I for one DO NOT favor maternity and paternity leave. My view is, if you're gonna take time off for a long time VOLUNTARY from work, you don't deserve to be paid! It's absurd to take a year or half a year off and require your employer to pay you. I'm for workers' comp. since the employees were injured through no fault of their own, but ma/paternity leave is just stupid. No employer wants to pay for someone who's not productive. Absurd.

These women's groups have to face reality and stop being such pansy utopians.

Left-wing "women's" groups are the whiniest bunch on the planet. You can't satisfied these people! Hell, they even have rallies and "movements" for crap that's inevitable in ANY culture, like rape! Look, I hate rape as much as the next person, and I'd never rape, but for god sakes, you can't get rid of it altogether. And it's not like rapists do it in broad daylight. Or domestic violence. I'm sorry, but some women will get hit. I wish it weren't so, but there's no culture without it.

You think you've satisfied these feminists by passing another law on the books to protect their interests, but then they just come up with MORE crap to put on the agenda and make up dozens of new problems that women "have" that didn't exist before, like this equal pay nonsense. Women who have equal training and the same job position in the same company will get paid the same, all other things being equal! It's differences in lifestyle that make pay differentials among the sexes. Idiots

You give these people an inch, and they take a mile! It sickens me to death. Haven't women gotten far enough already? When are the feminist "women's groups" gonna finally say "we've accomplished all our goals" and just disband? And realize the state of women is nothing like the 50s or the pre-1920s in this country. Women are MUCH better off!
How many feminists in today's era do you hear acknowledge how good they have it here compared to, say, Saudi Arabia or Iran? I've yet to hear it.

I'm getting a little sick and tired of radical feminists calling the shots on "women's issues." Please! As if liberal women know all the stuff women are concerned about.
Besides, in a nation as advanced as the United States, why are there still "women's issues" that the gov't has to tackle? I thought women were equal, got equal pay, had plenty of opportunities, and had plenty of anti-rape and anti-violence laws on the books! But apparently nothing is good enough for these feminazis.

Jesus Christ! Do we REALLY need more bureaucracy for all this victimhood bullshit? I'm pretty sure blacks and women have gotten far enough in this country. They can do fine on their own without the gov't looking over their shoulder to make they're not "discriminated against" and whatnot. Besides, WTF makes it gov't's job to "lift women up economically"? That should be each individual woman's responsibility.
