The Cheshire Cat

This was the first Character I decided to tackle in my suite. The Cheshire Cat is most interesting character, and it was a challenge to come up with something to suit him. I looked to other film composers to inspire me for this piece. In particular I was inspired by Danny Elfman, not because he scored Alice in Wonderland 2010, but rather for his Catwoman Theme that he wrote for Batman Returns (1992). In that theme he uses a unique approach and chose to represent her feline identity with the violins in their very high register. I took this inspiration and adapted it to my piece and there are parts where you'll notice such an orchestration. Also, you may notice that I've used a Sitar, and that's because when watching Alice in Wonderland, I found there to be a lot of psychedelic imagery, that in turn lead me to think of the Beatles and their use of the Sitar in a similar style of psychedelic song writing. Wow, you wrote this all by yourself? Great job! I love it so much! It suits him perfectly.

Just out of curiosity, did you do this on a computer program or live orchestra?

....the heck no comments? i swear i saw a few here a while ago, well i really like this music actually, it has that relaxing tone yet misterious like the cat himself, another thing to notice it also sounds uplifting withc fits better for the dark background but this gleeful theme hehe thanks for uploading X3
