PUP/SCH solo with Spiritreaver - vs VT Marid

Since the addition of Addendum: Black, scholar is easily the best sub for manaburning. PUPs now have the ability to *sleep* mobs, by making use of this subjob. Finally all that mage gear serves a purpose, to boost magic accuracy high enough to land sleep and drain. This strategy only works with /SCH sub, because dark arts increases your enfeebling skill to 200+.

The kill takes about five minutes against a VT marid. Also note that I have no magic merits (which give the puppet access to blizzard IV) and only one optimization merit (5% MAB per merit). The kill could be significantly faster, depending on your setup.

Sorry about the choppiness. My computer goes to crap when running fraps. I'm kinda stumbling around a little bit in the video, because it's hard to play with it running.

pup is a great solo job in general, altho i know many who would disagree, but in my personl expirience i have used nin and dnc for subs which work great, but after seeing this vid i think im going to give pup/sch a try, Blackchaosfox Pheniox server, 59 pup soloed the whole way, and gonna make it to 75 by myself

It's phenomenal for soloing at low levels and pretty good at 75; however, it's one of the worst soloing jobs from mid levels until 75. It doesn't have the kill speed to compete at those levels, especially if you're using soulsoother.

I recommend trying PUP/NIN with a melee frame when you get to 75. Increased damage, combined with less hate loss from shadows, will even allow you to hold hate off valoredge or sharpshot.

Actually, at lv 50-70 range it's pretty easy to solo with the addition of FoV. Just pull out Valoredge, go /dnc, deploy valoredge on 1 mob and go after another mob yourself. Valoredge would only take about 10-15% vs a DC mob, which it can Cannibal Blade back in a flash. Not to mention the new Auto-Repair kits, which have about 10-15 regen depending on Light Maneuvers. For solo exp at 75 though, /sch is the way to go.

i too am a pup but ive been sleep nuking in mount z on roaches, and even on them as /sch with capped enfeeble and darkstaff and grip and some other enfeebling gear i can not stick them as well as you, may i ask what gear u use?
