As the son of a cavalry officer in the Twenties andThirties, my dad spent many a night camping with troopers of the old Army. One of his favorite memories was the soldiers sitting around the campfire at evening, singing this song. Thanks for posting and bringing me one of Dad's, and my, favorites.
